This project emerges as a pioneering initiative aimed at reshaping the social dynamics within first-person shooter (FPS) gaming communities. This project introduces a groundbreaking approach to mitigating toxicity and fostering a culture of positivity and inclusiveness. By leveraging player feedback to differentiate between serious and casual gamers, this project seeks to cultivate balanced and harmonious gaming environments that reward positive interactions and teamwork.
Process
The development of his project involved a thorough design exploration process, focusing on the integration of a social badge system within FPS games. The system operates on the principle of collecting and analysing player feedback, both positive and negative, to categorize gamers into distinct groups based on their level of seriousness and commitment. This categorisation facilitates the creation of well-matched teams, ensuring a compatible and enjoyable gaming experience for all participants.
A key feature of the project is the implementation of a reward mechanism. Players who achieve a milestone of 50 positive feedback ratings from their peers are honored with a distinctive badge displayed prominently on their gaming profile. This badge serves as a symbol of the player's dedication to fostering a positive gaming environment, offering recognition and motivation to maintain commendable behavior.
Tools Used
This project required the utilisation of sophisticated software and analytical tools capable of handling large volumes of feedback data. The system's backbone is built on robust database management software, ensuring the secure and efficient processing of player evaluations.
